๐๐ฝ The OECD suggests Israel eliminate subsidies for Haredi yeshiva students, and condition childcare support on fatherโs employment, in order to close socioeconomic gaps in Israeli society. The current Israeli government budget includes NIS 13.7 billion ($3.7 billion) for Haredi institutions, including NIS 3.7 billion ($960 million) for increased yeshiva stipends. Last week, the Knesset Finance Committee approved the allocation of hundreds of millions more shekels for the Haredi educational system. (JPost)
